The 6th class Camogie and Hurling teams got off to a flying start in their repective leagues this week.
Competing in the Corn Bean Uí Phuirseil, the 6th class camogie team came out with a win against a strong Belgrove side. The teams were well matched on the pitch but it was the girls' grit, hard work and tenacitiy that earned them a deserved victory. Next up is an away fixture versus Portmarnock followed by a local derby versus St.Patrick's Diswellstown the following week.
The 6th class boys Hurling team flew out of the traps with a superb performance in their opening fixture in the Corn Tomás Mac Giolla Phadraig agains St. John Boscos. The boys love their hurling and their excellent skills and team work were on display in a sun drenched Russell Park, perfect conditions hurling.
Its a busy time for hurling and camogie in St.Brigid's with the 4th and 5th class Boys and girls teams commencing their seasons shortly also.
Students and teachers alike are looking forward to the next few weeks as they travel the high-roads and byroads of Dublin, hurls in hand, ready for action.
