On the 12th of November, Bryan Mollen, from the Irish Rugby 7s Team visited all the 5th class in St. Brigid's National School.
Earlier this year, in September, Mr. Killian's 5th class students took part in the Dare to Believe daily Olympic Movement Breaks. One day, they received an email stating that they could apply for an Olympian to visit the school. Karla and James wrote an application letter which was accepted!
On the day of the visit , all the 5th classes made their way down to the library to meet Bryan and listen to his presentation. During the presentation he told the children all about why he played rugby and lots of facts about himself. He spoke about his diet for training and his personal best squat which is two hundred and fifty kilos, the equivalent of an African Lion.
He said it is amazing to play the sport you love with your best friends every day. Then the children took part in a question and answer session with him.
The children went outside to play a class game and took photos.
We thanked him for the amazing time and wonderful experience it was to have a two-time Olympian visit our school.
